Effective October 26, 2026. These terms apply to GovBot Energy Infrastructure at energy.govbot.ai, operated by Ideation Lab, Corp.

Permitted use

Use this read-only service for public-record research. No sign-in or purchase is required. Respect rate limits. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, disrupt the service or submit confidential information.

Source qualifications

EIA states that its publications are in the public domain and asks that reuse carry an acknowledgment with the publication date, for example “Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration”. Preserve the stated EIA dataset, data period, file date and retrieval time when reusing results. The facility and pipeline layers are fixed EIA snapshots; facilities opened, closed, sold or renamed since their data period are not reflected. Lengths and distances are computed by GovBot from the published geometry and are approximate.

Limits of the service

Results are not engineering, safety, route, right-of-way, permitting, interconnection or capacity-availability determinations, and they are not a basis for locating, crossing or excavating near any facility. Underground facilities are located before excavation through the 811 call-before-you-dig system; interconnection is determined by the transmission provider and the regional transmission organization or balancing authority. The service does not provide legal or engineering advice. Records are provided as available without a guarantee of completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular decision. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Energy Information Administration or any government agency. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
